A sketch allows a painter to figure out how the light falls on a subject’s face or how a trio of figures fill a canvas. However, as she writes here in her artist statement, Bobbie never really took up drawing in her professional practice. Her recent foray with drawing on these works on paper has been altogether different, In fact, it has allowed her freedom from the need to make her work representational.”
